I am offering an approximately 15 minutes long, free phone conversation to find out if we are the right fit for each other to work together. It is an opportunity for you to ask any questions that you have about counselling, what to expect at the sessions. It is also an opportunity for me to get to know you and to understand more what you are looking for.
After the phone conversation you will have time to think about the experience and decide whether you would like to proceed on working with me.
Having an honest and trusting therapeutic relationship is important within the sessions, and it is essential that you find somebody who you can connect with and feel comfortable opening up to.
Therefore, if you felt at any point during our work together, that I am not the person you were looking for, you are free to end the sessions any time.
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on understanding and modifying dysfunctional emotions, behaviours, and thoughts. It is doing so by looking at the roots of the negative thoughts and irrational beliefs. It is present focused and solution oriented.
CBT usually involves having between 6 to 20 sessions (but it can be shorter or longer too), depending on the issues the client brings to therapy. Regular check-ins about the progress are part of the therapeutic work.
Areas of counselling I work with:
What we discuss at the sessions is confidential, unless I feel like you or somebody else is at any risk of potential harm to yourself or anybody else. In those cases I would inform you and I have a duty to inform the emergency services. If you have any questions or concerns regarding these, please feel free to reach out to me.
